A calmer day, one step at a time
Families, children, and members
Create a family, add child profiles, and invite family members.
Updated 2026-10-28 · Web & iOSCreate or join a family
Adults can create a family, accept an invitation, or switch families. Children do not see family management and cannot create or switch families. Members can access information according to their role.
- As an adult, open family management from “Me” to create a family, or open the join-family option.
- The invitee signs in to their own FamilyMate account, enters the invitation link or details, and accepts.
- After switching families as an adult, make sure the expected family is selected.
Manage child profiles
Parents can add a profile from “Me → Child profiles” and choose to leave it unbound, link an existing child account, or create an account. Which profile fields children can edit depends on the family’s core-field settings. Child avatars can be selected from a device; the native app also supports static HEIC photos.
- Open “Me → Child profiles”, choose Add child, and enter the profile details.
- If the child needs an account, link an existing account or create and bind a new one.
- After choosing an avatar, check its preview and save the profile.
Family limits
A free family can have one active child profile and five draft or active schedules. The current limits appear in child profiles and schedule configuration. Existing configuration remains editable at the limit; if membership expires while the family is over its limit, related configuration edits pause until a schedule is archived or a child profile is deleted. Schedule execution, pickup progress, account unbinding, and cleanup remain available. Child requests do not use a slot; if approval would add a schedule with no capacity, the request stays pending. Member families are not subject to these two limits.
Members and collaborator access
Parents can invite children or collaborators; only the family creator can invite another parent. Collaborators can access only schedules and transport tasks assigned to them, and cannot manage child profiles.
- Send invitations only to people you want to join the family.
- Unbinding a child account does not delete the profile or existing family records.
- Each member manages or resets their own password; parents cannot change another member’s password.
