Account and deletion

Manage sign-in and understand the account deletion flow in the native app.

Updated 2026-10-28 · Web & iOS

Password and sign-in

The web app provides password settings under “Me → Account security”. The native app supports sign-in, registration, and the account’s password recovery flow. Each member manages their own password. Signing out, leaving a family, deleting a child profile, and deleting the full account are different actions.

Request deletion in the native app

Full account deletion is currently submitted from the iPhone/iPad native app; the web app has no account deletion screen. The preview can include multiple Services and families, not only the currently selected family. A family creator must choose to transfer or dissolve each relevant family.

  1. In the native app, open “Me → Account security → Delete account” and load the full-scope preview.
  2. Review the Services, families, and retained records; choose a transfer or dissolution for each family that requires it.
  3. Acknowledge the scope, enter your current password, and confirm. After the server accepts the request, the app shows cleanup progress; acceptance does not mean cleanup is already complete.
  4. Later, return to Deletion progress to check whether the request is waiting, cleaning, retrying, or complete.

What happens after submission

Deletion revokes sign-in access and continues cleanup as a task. Some shared history may remain; personal profiles, avatars, and records linked to you are removed under the cleanup rules. Unsynced timers will not be settled. Deleting an account does not cancel Apple auto-renewal; manage Apple subscriptions separately.

  • If the request is still pending confirmation, check the existing deletion progress instead of creating another request.
  • If cleanup needs attention, contact the relevant service support using the information shown on the progress page.
  • For account deletion questions from the web, contact FamilyMate support. Never send your password to another person.
